CONTEST HELP

1. Submission of photographs.
Only registered users can take part in contests. If you do not have user name on Pixcafe.net, register for free on http://www.pixcafe.net/registration . Otherwise, just login, click on MyAccount, and click on MyContests on the left menu. Click on a contest name in the contest list, you will be redirected to the page of contest view. A contest view page consists of three tabs: contest rules, photos submission and photo list. Study contest rules on the first tab. Switch to the second tab. Each contest has its’ own requirements for photographs. Photographs that do not meet these requirements will not me accepted for contest. Submit you photographs using flash uploader or http-uploader. You cannot upload more photographs than “Maximum photographs” value of the contest.

Attention: you cannot delete submitted contest photographs.

Your submitted photographs will be displayed on the same (second) tab. If you have submitted less than maximum qty of allowed photographs for the contest, you can upload some more photographs later, while the period of photograph submission lasts. For example, if the “Maximum photographs” value of the contest is 5, and you have submitted 3 photographs, then you can upload 2 more photographs later.

There are no entry fees for participating in our contests. There are no restrictions on the type of camera used. If using a film camera, you should ensure that the image has been scanned into digital format before submission. Our photo uploaders accept the following formats: .jpeg, .gif, .png.

2. Voting.
Each contest can have 1 or more rounds of voting. Photographs that received most points, go to the next round. If there are no more round, prize-winners are announced. Judging will be conducted either by the panel of judges or by Pixcafe.net site users.

Panel of Judges The Panel of Judges may include representatives of Sponsor, Pixcafe.net and/or selected individuals. Members of the panel of judges vote during the period of voting, and their votes are not discovered for visitors. Photographs can be displayed for all the Pixcafe.net site’s visitors, or they can be not displayed, depending on the round rules. Each member of the panel of judges can see only title of a photograph and a value of points that he gave for a photograph. Jury cannot see information about submitter of the photograph. A decision of the Panel of Judges is final.

User vote All Pixcafe.net visitors can see contest photographs during open vote. Only logged in users can vote for photographs. Register or login, click on MyAccount, and click on MyContests on the left menu. Click on a contest name in the contest list, you will be redirected to the page of contest view. Switch to the third tab and click on a photograph thumbnail. Your vote will be considered during sizing up the contest. Turn over photographs to vote for other photographs. You cannot see how many points other users granted to photographs. You can see how much photographs you have voted, and how much point you have granted to the each photograph.

Attention: you cannot withdraw or change points you have awarded.

Please do not contact us about the status of your contest photographs. Points judged to each photograph are summed automatically by our system, and winners are selected on the base upon simple majority.


3. Winners.
Prize-winners are determined according to the majority of points. Please study rules of a concrete contest to find detailed information about prizes provided and a procedure of their handing. You can find list of prize-winners on the third tab of a contest view page: click menu “Contests”, click on a title of a contest, switch to the third tab “Winners”. The third tab is used to show all submitted photographs during submission and vote periods, and the same third tab is re-titled to “Winners”, when prize-winners are announced.

This “Contest Help” can be changed without prior notification.
